Wayne Carroll's 4000 Crosses
Right To Life Of Southeastern
Kentucky is always looking for God inspired material to add to our website.
Kathy Rutledge, (KY State Leader of Operation Outcry and the KY Regional Coordinator for Silent no More Awareness Campaign)
suggested a song to use as background music for our “Time for Truth” broadcast. The song “4000 Crosses”
written by Wayne Carroll from Louisville,
Ky.
Wayne
has written several songs and you can find out more at his website http://www.4000crosses.com
We HIGHLY recommend
this brothers music and suggest you check his site out. Below you can read an excerpt from his website explaining how he was
inspired to write 4000 Crosses.
On
a drive home from a business trip to Evansville,
Indiana in December 2005, I drove past a huge display of thousands of small white crosses
in a farmer's field. In that very instant God gave me inspiration for a song, and over the next few days "4,000 Crosses" was
born.
The
Vanderburgh County (Indiana)
Right to Life chapter has been erecting this field in Evansville for several years,
and it stands from November until the planting season starts again on the farm, which is owned by the Durchholz family.
The
reaction to "4,000 Crosses" has been a humbling and overwhelming experience for me. It has been the subject of a news article
in the Evansville Courier and interviews on Christian radio programs in Indiana
and Kentucky. It is being shared in pregnancy counseling centers, and several
Right to Life chapters are using it at their annual banquets and other events. I believe many lives are being changed as a
result of the haunting message of this song and the vivid picture of God's love it portrays.
